binary opposition

Binary opposition 

binary opposition is films is represented in films using mise en scene,editing,sound or camera shots.binary oppostions are oppsoties witin a film for example a typical binary opposition in a teen film would be a jock and a nerd,mise en scene would be used to show this by having the nerd wearring high waisted trousers and genereally unfashionable clothes whereas the jock is always seen wearing new fashionable clothes.

               
an example of binary opposition in 10 things i hate about you is when the the cheerleaders are in a sporty ar playing hip hop musci  whilst the other girl is in a banged up truck listening to music this is a good example of binary opposition becuase mise en scene clearly is used effectively to show the difference between the the two groups.

another example of binary is in romeo and juliet, the binary opposition in this is between two families the montagues and capulets the monatgues are seen wearing suits are are dressed smartly compared to the capulets who wear brighttly couloured shirts and funly clothing, the use of mise en scene is used effictively as the way they dress reflects the way they act .
